July 4th Fundraiser - Cancellation
Neighbors, friends and supporters,
In light of the current trend in reported COVID-19 cases in Galveston County and in Texas, and in support of our mission to protect and support our community, the Jamaica Beach VFD has elected to cancel our 44th annual July 4th fundraiser for this year. While we were looking forward to seeing everyone that comes out to support us, we could not in good conscience hold a gathering that could possibly contribute to the spread of COVID-19 and jeopardize the health of those that support us.
We are 100% volunteer organization and all of our support comes from our community through our yearly fundraiser. For those of you that have already contributed, we thank you very much for your support. For those of you that may still wish to contribute, please either go to the donation link of the website or feel free to mail your donation to JBVFD - 5355 Jamaica Beach, Jamaica Beach, TX. 77554. .
On behalf of the officers and members, we hope to see you next year. We continue to be thankful for the support we receive from our community.
Beach Closed for Independence Day Weekend: Mayor Steve Spicer signed an executive order for the beach closure Wednesday after the City of Galveston recently announced the closure of their beaches and with beach closures being announced up and down the Texas Coast. The city feels it is in the best interest of our residents and visitors to close the beach ahead of the busy holiday weekend.
